I will admit, I’m a fairly new fan of these two. About a month ago, an artist I was working with had a studio session with a fellow Detroit native JMSN (pronounced Jameson). Prior to the session, I did some research and was absolutely blown away.
This remix of Toronto’s Rochelle Jordan, or ROJO, was one of the first songs I listened to on JMSN’s soundclod when learning more about his sound and style before I went to meet with him. She is a talented singer/songwriter born in the UK, raised in Toronto, and currently living in LA. While she has been singing since a young age and in the industry for a while, she just recently released her debut album. Her mellow and sweet vocals and organic lyrics really allow you to vibe out.
Both artists are so soulful, and their songwriting is equally consistent and thoughtful, creating a perfect pairing for this 90’s vibe track.
This particular song dropped a few months ago, but most recently, JMSN has released a remix to his single Street Sweeper (a personal favorite) featuring Freddie Gibbs and has an album on the way, and ROJO released her full-length LP 1 0 2 1 earlier this month.
Check out the collaboration of these amazingly talented artists below, and definitely grab a copy of ROJO’s 1 0 2 1.
