On my last trip to Jamaica (I’ve been going every year since I was about 8,) I was in the car listening to the radio and heard a familiar beat, and was fully prepared to start singing Popcaan Family, one of my favorite songs right now, but instead I heard Vershon. I had never heard of him before, but this son was quickly added into the dancehall rotation. The young artist from Kingston has been recording music since he was 18, and has recently been steadily seeing success with the assistance of breakout hits like No Worries. I honestly listen to this song almost every morning (usually right after Popcaan – Family since it’s such a natual transition) and it really helps put and keep me in the right mindset. I’m glad he was put on my radar, and I’m excited to follow along his journey.
